Multi-Page Reports

One page per topic:

  • Overview page

Page Navigation

Page Tabs

Bottom of report: Click to switch pages

Rename pages: Double-click tab

Reorder: Drag tabs left/right

Hide page: Right-click > Hide page

Navigation Buttons

Create clickable buttons:

  1. Insert > Buttons > Blank
  2. Format > Action > On
  3. Type: Page navigation
  4. Destination: Select page
  5. Add icon/text

Use for:

  • Home button
  • Next/Previous
  • Menu navigation

Bookmarks

Save view state:

  • Filter selections
  • Visible visuals
  • Drill state

Create bookmark: View > Bookmarks > Add

Use for:

  • Save scenarios
  • Story telling
  • Presentation mode

Drill-Through Pages

Detail page for deeper analysis:

Setup:

  1. Create new page
  2. Add detail visuals
  3. Add field to "Drill-through" well
  4. Right-click in other visuals > Drill through

Example: Product summary page > Drill to product detail

Auto back button: Added automatically!

Report Structure

Homepage

Landing page with:

  • Report title
  • Key metrics (cards)
  • Navigation to other pages
  • Last refresh date

Detail Pages

Specific analysis:

  • Sales page
  • Customer page
  • Product page
  • Each focused on one topic

Admin/Settings

Hidden page for:

  • Data refresh info
  • Model documentation
  • Testing visuals

Hub and Spoke

Hub: Homepage with buttons to all pages Spokes: Detail pages All pages: Back to home button

Linear

Wizard-style: Page 1 > Page 2 > Page 3 Next/Previous buttons

Hierarchical

Overview > Category > Detail Drill down through levels

Page Formatting

Page Size

View > Page size:

  • 16:9 (default, best for screens)
  • 4:3 (old projectors)
  • Letter (print)
  • Custom

Page Background

Format > Canvas background:

  • Color
  • Image
  • Transparency

Display > Page information: Add page name at top

Mobile Layout

View > Mobile layout: Drag visuals to phone screen

Best Practices

Page naming: Clear, descriptive names

Consistent navigation: Same button position on all pages
